CMI Community Update Jan. 9 2025 – Fires

To our California Mission Inn Family:

I wanted to follow up on my brief email yesterday morning to give you a status update on what is going at California Mission Inn. I am sure that you have seen news about the devastating fires in the LA County area which are being further agitated by the high winds that we have been experiencing in the area.

I want to assure you that our residents and staff remain safe, and we are not currently in the at risk zone. We continue to monitor the situation, and we have contingency plans for any actions that we may need to take should things change.

Given the current air quality as a result of the fires and the wind, we are encouraging all residents to remain inside and keep windows shut for now. However, we will continue to watch this as well and let residents know when it is safer for them to again spend time outdoors.

We may also be in a position to assist any residents from other assisted living facilities who may need to be evacuated from their own communities due to the fires, and we are prepared to provide space for them to stay until this emergency comes to a close.

We will update you should there be any significant changes in the situation at California Mission Inn. In the meantime, we will continue to provide our residents with the care and support they need.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns in particular about your loved one.

Sincerely,

Jared Green
Executive Director
